POH: According to Deputy Health Minister Dr. Lee Boon Chye, coronary heart disease is Malaysia’s leading cause of death, with 50 people dying every day.
The report from the Department of Statistics shows that 18,267 Malaysians died of coronary heart disease last year.
“The deaths causing by the disease increase year by year, and it is the major cause of ‘sudden death’ (in Malaysia),” he said after launching the ‘Perak Automated External Defibrillator (AED): Save-A-Life’ campaign at Ipoh City Hall on Sunday.
